EU: Too many sick employees
Sick leave what is it?
A cold can make you miss a few days of work. But why employees are absent from work depends on many things. Could there now be a way to prevent illnesses and thus reduce sick leave?
On average, an employee takes 19.5 days off sick. In 2020, the inability of employees to work led to a loss of gross value added totalling 144 billion euros. The average sickness rate for statutory health insurance was 4.34% in 2021 and already 5.46% in 2022.
The sickness rate of the working population insured with the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) was at 3.97% in 2021, the lowest in eight years.
This shows that preventive measures such as mask-wearing and hand disinfection helped to reduce illness. In addition to the measures already implemented, more intensive preventive action must now be taken to prevent the rising trend in sick leave from increasing even further in 2022.
The use of hypochlorous acid is recommended. Molecular hypochlorous acid degrades much more slowly than other methods, increasing the range and effectiveness of air and surface disinfection. Compared to "normal" disinfectants, the technology not only has no side effects or risks, but also has a positive effect on the human immune system. The Brandenburg start-up oji Europe makes prevention easier and more effective than ever.
Pneumologists also agree: "From a medical point of view, oji technology can be considered a new, essential, complementary building block for containing infections everywhere."
A big step into the future with reduced sick leave in companies.
